I had to slowly put myself into situations that previously made me very anxious, this drug truly helped!!! Completely eliminated anxiety disorder characterized by panic attacks and generalized anxiety after dosage of 50 mg/day was taken. This information is not vetted and should not be cosidered as clinical evidence. Downsside was that while on 25 mg/day start up dose for the first 7 days anxiety was extremely worsened and almost unbearable. While I definitely did notice some improvement in my depression, I believe that Zoloft is far from being a truly effective antidepressant drug. Patient taking 50 mg/day for generalized anxiety disorder and panic attacks. Anxiety extremely heightened and patient almost disscontinued med because of it. My depression had somewhat subsided and my panic attacks were less severe, albeit not completely gone. Hung in there and pill started to decrease and finally eliminate anxiety. metoprolol class Acid Reflux & Heartburn Acne Addison's des Alcoholism Allergic Reaction Allergies Alopecia Areata Altitude Sickness / Mountain Sickness Alzheimer's Amblyopia Anemia Anesthetic Reversal Anesthetics Angina (Chest Pain)Angioedema Ankylosing Spondylitis Anti-Aging & Cell Health Anti-Inflammatory Antioxidant Anxiety Apotic Dermatitis Arrhythmia (Irregular Heartbeat)Arteriosclerosis Arthritis Asthma & Breathing Difficulty Astigmatism Atherosclerosis & Arterial Disease Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD)Autism Autoimmune Urticaria Bacterial Infection Bacterial Infections Barratt osophergous Benign Tumors / Cysts Bipolar Disorder / Manic-Depression Birth Control Bladder Disorder Bleeding disorder Brain Trauma Breast Cancer Bronchitis Burn Injury Cancer Celiac Disease Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Chronic Kidney Disease Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)Circulation Cirrhosis of the liver Cold Cold Constipation Crohn's Disease Cushing's Syndrome Cystic Fibrosis Depression Dermatomyositis Detoxification Diabetes Type 1Diabetes Type 2Diarrhea & Bowel Disorder Digestive Aids Displasia Drug Addiction Ear Infection Eating Disorder Eczema Edema Enlarged Prostate (BHP)Epilepsy Epilepsy, Seizure & Spasm Erectile Dysfunction (ED)Eye & Vision Problem Fever Fibromyalgia Flu Fungal Infection Gastrius Gastrointestinal & Stomach Problem Gastroparesis Gingivitis Glaucoma Gliomas Gout Hair Loss / Thinning Harth pain Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism Hay Fever Headache Heart Attack Heart Disease Hemorrhage (Blood Loss)Hemorrhoids Hepatitis BHepatitis CHerpes High blood pressure High Blood Pressure (Hypertension)High Cholesterol HIV / AIDSHormone Imbalance Hperkemia Hughes syndrome Human Papillomavirus (HPV)Huntington's Disease Hyperparathyroid hypercalcemia Hyperthyroidism Hypothyroidism Immune System Support Incontinence Insomnia & Sleeping Disorder Insonmia Irritable Bowel Syndrome Joint Support Kidney Disorder Labor & Childbirth Leprosy Lichan planus Lichen sclerosus Liver Disorder Lou Gehrig's Disease Low Blood Pressure (Hypotension)Lung Cancer Lung Disease Lupus Malaria Male Enhancement Mcardle's Disease Medicine / Fluid Absorption Meniere's disease Meniere's Disease & Vertigo Meningitis Menopause Mental Health Microscopic colitis Migraine Mild splenomegaly Motion Sickness Mouth & Gum Disorder MRSAMultiple Sclerosis (MS)Muscle Building Muscle Sprains & Strains Muscle Strength Muscular Dystrophy Myasthenia Gravis Narcolepsy Nausea Nerve Damage Neuralgia Nutrient Deficiency Obsessive Compulsive Disorder Osteoarthritis Osteoporosis & Bone Disease Ovarian Cysts Pain Relief Pancreatic Cancer Parasites Parkinson Parkinsons Parkinson's Disease Perioral parasthesia Pneumonia Poison & Overdose Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS) & Menstruation Prostate Cancer Protrusion of the disc Psoriasis Raynaud's Disease Reproductive Health & Fertility Respiratory Tract Infection Rheumatoid Arthritis Rickets Rosacea Sarcoidosis Schizophrenia & Psychotic Disorders Scleroderma Severe headache Sexual Dysfunction Sexually Transmitted Illness (STI)Shojrens syndrome Sinusitis (Sinus Infection)Sjogren's Syndrome / Dry Mouth Skin and Soft Tissue Infections Skin Disorder Skin Rash Smoking Cessation Social Anxiety Disorder Staphylococcal Infections Stress Stroke Surgical Recovery Swellinghands Swine Flu (H1N1)Syringomyeli Tay-Sachs Disease Thrombosis (Blood Clot)Transplant Rejection & Recovery Trauma Recovery Tuberculosis Ulcer Ulcerative Colitis Ulcerative proctitus Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)Urticarial vaculitis Vasculitis Vomiting Warts Weight Loss & Metabolism Wolff Parkinson White Syndrome (WPW)Wrinkles Yeast & Vaginal Infection The generic name of this medication is sertraline and brand name is Zoloft. I started taking Zoloft for my depression and anxieties. When I started it took about 3 weeks for it to start working towards my mental health. In the meantime, I started getting dizzy, nauseous, loss of appetite, and just zoned out at times. One thing I didn't like is that it took away my bubbly personality. When it finally started working it was a great feeling. I started off with 50mg and after two months the doc increased my dosage because it wasn't working as effective. A month in a half later i had to increase again to 100mg. At this point I was gaining excessive weight, had insomnia, and headaches. My mental health was pretty good until I started gaining weight and feeling depressed again. I decided to weave off on my own (I know its not recommended). If you’re wondering whether you should ask your doctor about Zoloft for depression or other conditions, or if you’ve already been prescribed Zoloft, it’s a good idea to learn about other patients’ experiences with it first. In this article, I’ll go through a variety of Zoloft reviews to help you make a decision on whether Zoloft is right for you. I’ll focus on common Zoloft side effects, how it interacts with other drugs, and how users think it compares to other similar medications for depression and anxiety. Zoloft (sertraline) is a prescription-only selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). SSRIs work by decreasing (“inhibiting”) the re-uptake, or reabsorption, of serotonin into the brain, thus making more of it available. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate mood, sexual desire, social behavior, and other necessities of everyday functioning, such as memory and sleep. Having more serotonin available in the brain allows many of those with depression and other psychiatric disorders to function more effectively.

A recent study in Washington found that only 67% of serious drug interactions resulted in a correct warning from a pharmacy computer system designed to warn of significant drug interactions.(1)Causes contributing to harmful drug? drug interactions include narrow therapeutic dosage ranges associated with certain drugs and a patient? For example, patients with epilepsy have increased chances of drug interaction, compared with those with other disease states.(2)Several antiepileptic agents? such as phenytoin, carbamazepine, and valproic acid? Thus, there is little room for error when using these drugs. Compromised renal function or changes in the cytochrome P-450 enzymes also can increase the risk of experiencing a severe adverse drug event. Clearly, it is important for pharmacists to recognize and understand which drug interactions can result in significant patient harm. Understanding the pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics responsible for these significant interactions strengthens the pharmacist? s chances of identifying dangers and preventing patient harm.
