    Hello all, I am currently new to this site and ran across the discussion about stopping Plaquenil. I have been taking Plaquenil for about 8-9 months and thought that it was not helping me because I still have a fair amount of joint pain, fatigue, muscle pain and so many other issues. Hydroxychloroquine HCQ, sold under the brand name Plaquenil among others, is a medication used for the prevention and treatment of certain types of malaria. It takes like 4 months for the Plaquenil to build up and the sickness usually goes away, until you have to increase the dose. It took me 10 years to learn to listen to my body. I was afraid if I didn't fight I would let Sjogrens and Lupus win. I decided to compromise.
