    Plaquenil and low blood pressure

It seems that every single Dr Appt I have been to for the past year I have had low blood pressure. I just went to the Gyno for the first time yesterday (horrible expierence, Doc didnt explain anything to me and then decided to do a pelvic exam without even warning me or telling me they were going to do one then complained when I tensed up) and it was 90/54.

Hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil is used to treat malaria, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis. Learn about side effects, warnings, dosage, and more. So this was quite a shock. For me after all the testing and trips to research hospitals as I also have extremely low blood pressure it was found that I have a rare neurological condition that caused my heart to start to beat into arrythmias. Most often cardiologists cannot determine what the cause of an arrythmia is. Hydroxychloroquine HCQ, a commonly used antimalarial drug in rheumatic diseases, has shown favorable metabolic effects on both glucose control and lipid profiles. We describe a case of a young woman with type 1 diabetes whose glycemic control was optimized.

Sometimes I feel light headed and dizzy I wonder if its from that. I was wondering if any of you guys/gals suffer from low blood pressure also?

Because these reactions are reported voluntarily from a population of uncertain size, it is not always possible to reliably estimate their frequency or establish a causal relationship to drug exposure. The most common causes of high blood pressure in people with lupus are obesity, kidney disease, and long-term steroid use. Other medications, such as cyclosporine Neoral, Sandimmune, Gengraf can also cause elevations in blood pressure. High blood pressure can lead to kidney failure, stroke, heart failure, and heart attack. Hydroxychloroquine Plaquenil Toxicity and Recommendations. Although hydroxychloroquine retinal toxicity is thought to be rare, recent studies suggest it may have a higher prevalence than previously recognized. A large study examining patients with more than 5 years of HCQ use were evaluated with 10-2 visual fields or spectral-domain optical coherence tomography SD OCT.
