  6. I've taken plaquenil off and on for about 8 years. I do best with a dose of 1 200mg tablet per day taken early. The 400 dose gives headaches, sleeplessness, and yes, some hot flashes. black cohosh can contribute to blood clotting. If I should begin experiencing more hot flashes again their are some anti depressants that can help.
